I was standing before the refrigerator this morning, with the usual pre-coffee stupor fogging my brain. I noticed something Lori had tacked on the door:
"Completer Ceremony"
There were dates and congratulatory comments on it, and my dim brain realized it was an invitation to my sons graduation this week. He has gone through the techinical training program at the high school as a CAD student and has earned a scholarship for his efforts. Go Tim!
But as I stood ther scratching my head, I wondered aloud: "When did we stop calling them graduates? That word, graduate, has a ring to it - it has class. But completer? What sort of minimalist, socialistic claptrap is that!?"
Lori looked at me. "It's early, David. Don't get started..."
SO Im wondering - when did 'completer' come into play? And why?
