Hi! Im new on here and new to geese, We bought 2 about 2 weeks ago and decided to get 2 more this past thursday - Well of the four - one of them is very small like a runt - he cant hardly walk sometimes - its not the spraddle leg - they dont go sideways - he sits flat on his butt with his legs in front of him - when he tries to walk he falls flat on his face and is constantly falling over on his back and cannot get up. I have to flip him over - if he takes his time and doesn't getted "stressed" he walks normally. I worry about him spending so much time on his back - he just lays there - and he'll sleep but I worry because he cant roll himself over to get to water or food. I don't want to get rid of him or put him down - Ive grown very attached. And he doesn't seem to be in pain. Do any of you have any suggestions for what it may be or if it will get better? Also, am I right to be worried about him on his back?

Thanks so much!

I'm so sorry about your gosling. I just had the very same thing with one of mine and we lost him. I don't know what was wrong with him. He too kept flipping onto his back and couldn't right himself. We made a sling for him to hold him upright but in the end, we lost him.

I wish I had some answers for you but I just don't. You might want to try some brewers yeast on his food, or niacin in his water. I tried those but they didn't do my little boy any good.

I wish you luck with your little one. I know you feel helpless because I did.

HUGS!

Laurie

There is always hope but it sounds like nerve damage that you can do nothing about. your choice let him try to recover or put him down. Sorry I can't offer any real help.
