My "Stolen Moments Run"

I have some pullets to introduce into the big girls. My problem was I didn't have another run near by and I didn't want to tie up my dog crate as I use that to carry in and out the toddlers. So I had to build a small run to put inside the big girl's run. Being busy with farm work I had to build it in "stolen moments". Times when I had a minute or two go put in a screw or pound a couple staples. I finally finished it last night and put it to use.

Now I have a 6x6x6 dog kennel (given to me) to turn into rabbit quarters for the bunnies that Kute Kitten posted about!

Very nice, Famer Kitty. How did your "intro" sessions work?

I tried putting our mature rooster and hen into the brooder run yesterday, and they freaked out. Not successful. I'm interested in seeing how I can "intro" our 11 pullets to our 3 mature chickens.

AllChookUp-I just finished the run last night and I put the two pullets I'm introducing right now in it. I'll leave them there for a while. Not sure how long yet. They have plenty of room and are only 13 weeks old, so they are not laying yet. I feed the hens layer and the pullets don't need that yet. I'm just going to play it by ear and eye and see how things go. I'll trust my instinct as to when they are ready to try to blend together. The last time I had two hens out the other hens wanted to fight with them when I put them back and Sir Roo wouldn't let them. He would break up the fights. I'm hoping the same will happen with these two. Maybe I'll have to see about putting him with the pullets for a bit before I let them with the rest of the hens and see if he will bond with them first.
