Hello everybody, I'm new to this so not sure if I've done it right! I have a question about my girl in the photo! She's my Sugar and I'd really like to try and work out what breed she is..because I'd like to get her a friend the same. Any ideas? I think she could be a white buff Orpington x Plymouth Rock but not sure.

Thank you!! Tanith BHH she is the best girl in the whole world....she is blind in one eye and has some mental scarring from being attacked by a bunch of adult hens! That has made her so sweet and somewhat disadvantaged and slower than the other girls. She follows me around. I believe chickens hang with either same breed or same colours. I have two barnevelder (connected at the wing) and a Isa brown and buff x silky (also connected) this leaves poor sugar a bit left out! I hope I can get her a friend the same.

Oh, poor her! So lucky to have you to look after her:)
If you do get a friend for her, check that the friend is mild-tempered, so she doesn't get bullied by them like she was in the past.
I don't have experience with this, but it sounds like if she is blind in one eye, get a breed like a polish or silkie as a friend who are also mild tempered and polish (apparently - please someone correct me if I'm wrong just I read this in a book) they can also be bullied because they can't see as well as other breeds because of their feathering. Of course it all depends on the individual too.

Good luck in finding her a friend

It would be good if she could be a housepet with her own outdoor covered pen, since she wouldn't be able to flee from predators. A polish for a companion or a silkie, would be a good idea, you can find them in white also.
