with so mamh mixed breeds I feel this task is impossible to decipher males and females.

It will become clear in time, but yes it can feel impossible at some points!

I can tell some birds' gender easily, but so far yours are giving me trouble too.
That's why I shared what I was thinking as I tried to figure it out, because sometimes one person's thoughts can help someone else see (something) that makes it clear.

For example, if you saw clear saddle feathers, you would then know they are males-- and being able to see the birds from different angles as they move around can make it much easier to see the shape of the feathers. Or maybe you would be able to pick them up and look at the actual feather shapes.

Rainbow is still a very small bird, the same size as what i think my pullets are. But with so mamh mixed breeds...

Yes, that is a difficult thing about trying to sex mixed breeds. Sometimes the differences are because of gender and sometimes they are not!

The red one is male, you can see quite well the new shiny male feathering coming in in the picture with the waterer.

I was wondering if that makes him male. He has red thin hackles coming in too. Darker than his normal.

Yes. They will become more obvious as they grow longer
