Hi guys I was wondering if I should feed my ducks coconut oil. They are a year old, and so precious. They love being held over your shoulder and rocked like babies. Anyway my Pekin, Reed, repels water really well. My swedish blue Malloy, seems to get damp and not repel water very well . They are very healthy and are laying crazy sized eggs. I just worry that with all this rain Malloy may get sick. Any ideas? They have a pen that is covered if they want to hangout some place dry. But they usually don't go in there till night time. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

My ducks only go in their warm dry coop at night and stay out getting more bedraggled in the rain. I think most ducks are like that.

I dont think it wise to feed your ducks coconut oil. It won't help 'waterproof' your swedish blue. Some ducks are definitely more rain repellant than others, but as long as your ducks are preening and spreading their natural oil from their preen gland, they will be okay.

It's great that your ducks like to be held and snuggle up to your shoulder.

Oh thank you so much for the information. They are both great at preening and seem real happy. I feel much better, Thank you! I love them so much, I play soft classical piano music for them because we live on a loud street. It cracks the neighbors up.. I can breathe easier now. Thank you! ❤️
