My sweet Big Bird is paralyzed

She might recover. I have had birds sustain a head injury and recover in a day or two. If she doesn't start to recover in the next two days, though, it might be kinder to cull.

Poor Big Bird!! I hope she recovers, I’ll think good thoughts for her! It’s always the ones that are your kid’s favorite. My daughter has gotten attached to both of the chicks that failed to thrive and it’s heart breaking :-(

From the original 19, I still have Tiger Millionaire, Aragorn, and Tux. tux broke her beak last year, and it healed a bit wonky, but it doesn’t bother her. The others were sold. This is my first unintentional, healthy adult loss, so I’ve been quite lucky. My only other outside bird loss was a 5 week old I lost over the winter because it somehow got wet, I assume they were playing with the nipples and he was standing/crouching in a bad spot soaking it up.
