My teens are driving me insane! (rant)

Some of the time I know they forget the phone, and leave them in another room. We have a new rule that if the kids are in the basement then the phones should be in the kitchen. Then they can hear them ring!

I know its not ALL about them all the time. But why can't it be about me at least 10% of the time?

I know its frustrating. Ive had to check up on my sister a time or two when we were visiting the same neighbor hood ( different friends) and i had to walk three miles to see if she was ok because she wouldnt answer her phone. Turned out the little snip had put me on ignore, even though she was well aware that my phone calls were priority that day.

Well thats a six mile work out for me, considering her friend refused to give me a lift back to where i was staying.
Kids these days though are very self centered. It makes me sick when I go into a store and see some girl texting and then getting an attitude with her mother when asked what kind of ice cream she wants.

my moms walks in with a garbage bag if our rooms arent cleaned by the dead line. If we want the grbage bag ( which includes anything on the floor or not organized on the desk) We either pay $5 or are assigned bathroom/ yard duty. That keeps my room clean. I Dont want to spend money on my clothes that i could be spending on my ducks.

Guess someone finally realized that something was about to hit the fan. I got an answer! And the "The phone was in a weird place because I washed my sheets" excuse. We'll soon know the truth on THAT excuse

But was also told that youngest brought the chicks in as the oldest brought the cats in. So maybe there's hope for those 2 yet!

Phew.

Still gonna stomp when I get home. But I guess I don't get to throw things. Like cell phones... against the wall.

We're headed for that. I'm tired of the clean clothes being on one pile on the floor, and the dirty clothes being in a different pile.
I at least kept my clean clothes on my bed at that age

My answer to that would be to let the kids know that since you can't seem to get hold of them on their phones when they're out they'll just need to stay home.

Teen here, and personally i say take their phones away

. I myself don't answer my phone 90% of the time when my parents call.. But i have logical explanations for that. A. Im asleep ( i sleep a lot unless someone will give me jobs, then i just do homework, and talk to friends until i fall asleep, or i force myself to sleep because im bored). B. It was in my pocket, and if im standing up.. i can't hear/feel it vibrate. im not one to use ringtones because 99% of them are annoying, even the custom made ones.. And i get texts all the time (seriously.. from the time i wake until the time i sleep, and even then i get them..) so if i used a ringtone i'd probably end up throwing my phone through a wall...

PS, didn't read but the first page of posts.. But reading the last glad they did answer back.

I tried not answering the cellphone a few times when I was 16/17....and my dad showed up and DBF's house at 1:00 a.m. with police! THe other time my mom drove all the way over to the theater one town over because I hadnt answered and she was mad at me....I was good at answering after those occasions! My 'rent's took my phone away quite often...it did the trick. Amazing that I could live without the car keys but not my cell phone!

I am so in your club..... My 13 year old never answer's his phone. So the last time I sent him a text I told him he had one more time not to answer that phone when I called it and he wouldn't have a phone to worry about!!! I am so tired of that!!!
