Welcome to BYC. Love your artwork, is that an Opuntia cactus? I used to have many winter hardy plants that flourished on the south side of the house - in a Chicago suburb. Mine were yellow and also some red throated yellow blossoms. Mostly with just spine hairs, and no real spines.
