in regard to the chicken hens so far my tom has shown absolutely no interest in them and they all hang out together every day. UNTIL two days ago I reintroduced a White rock hen who had been kept seperated from the flock. Ol' Amos was right their all day bumping up against her. She just ignored him and he didn't try anything more than strutting and bumping, boy the turkey hens were getting a little peeved. I'm going to keep an eye on the situation.

I have a lot of social engineering going on in my flock too. My turkey hens are actually the trouble makers, relentlesslly ganging up on and attacking one of my top roosters and only that one. They fan out their wussy girl tails like they're tough guys. They also try to pass themselves off as chickens and sneak into the chicken coop at night and perch on the roosts. They would have gotten away with it too, except my evening head count was off. Tom just stands there and watches, like he does with everything "If you need me for anything, contact my secretary."

I looked outside today and thought something was in death throws, I went running out to see what the problem was and it was one of my turkey hens dust bathing in the chicken spot in the barn. I haven't seen them do this before, not like the chickens much thrashing and flailing lol, straw and dirt were flying.
