I recently got this to turn into a tractor for my roosters and/or some freedom rangers. Stand by as I complete this project. Design ideas are welcome as I hope to make it both functional and good looking enough that I can even place it in the front of the property at times. The cage portion is 5' x 8' and once I get some tires on it I'll be able to move it with our zero turn mower.

I think I would try to remove one of the axle. Instead of buying 4 tires just buy two really good ones. And it would make turning it so much easier. Just the back one. Try to even the load.
The draw back of one axle is you would need trailer jacks.

I didn't get to mess with it much since my original post. The other day I got the door off, cleaned it out, and started working on the rust.

The worst bit of rust damage is that bar where the door track was attached at the bottom. So, that needs to be cut out and a new track welded on. I've been bugging my husband to teach me to weld so this might be my opportunity.

In the meantime, I kept going with the cleanup and aesthetics today as I used rust reformer on what didn't scrape off. I flipped all the floor boards and put new side boards. If I put the floor boards tight then I end up with a 3" gap in the flooring. You can see it somewhat in this pic and of course I could shift the boards and move it all the way to the back.

I'm trying to decide if I'm okay with 1/2" gaps between all the boards or what I want I want to do about that cumulative gap, if not. I'm trying to remind myself this is going to be for extra roosters and maybe meat birds and not to go overboard.

Anyway, as of right now it looks like this and I'm calling it quits for the day.
