My turkeys are laying eggs. But should they?

My standard bronze turkey is laying at 5 months old and it's fall! Will she lay again in the spring? I want to hatch the eggs in the spring!

The climate will determine at what time of the spring she starts laying, but yes she should start back up sometime mid spring.

Hey guys, i have a question. These are my first turkeys, so I'm not sure what to expect from them. I have a pair of bronze turkeys And I've seen them do their "thing" but I'm not sure they are getting the job "done" if ya know what I mean. They're around 6 months old or so. I came out one day and noticed she was gone and I thought I was going to have to butcher my Tom if she didn't show back up at all, but she came back up after a while. Same thing again today, so I went down to where I thought she might be and found five eggs. What's the next step? Should I try putting them in my incubator?

The nights up there are getting colder, so I would, unless the hen starts staying on the nest, but depending on where she is, she could be taken by a predator while on her nest, so I would and I would make sure the property where she is well fenced, because turkeys are sneaky and once you have discovered her nest, if she is broody, she may move to another location. Do you have a safe place you can move her and the eggs, if she is broody, so she can set them? If not, I would pen her with the tom and incubate the eggs, but that's just me.

Just anything that I should know. I'm using a still air incubator and I have ten eggs in the incubator. I put the eggs in the incubator last night. I'm not sure they are fertile or even good anymore if they were fertile. In a week I'm going to add some chicken eggs and see if I have any luck with them. Is there any specific advice you can give me? I'm confused about the humidity. I have a shallow dish of water in the incubator but it still hasn't gone above 16% for some reason...

One of my hens has been laying and so I have been incubating the eggs. I've had 9 hatch over the last 3 weeks so far and just set 7 eggs today. I have a brinsea but the idea will be the same. Turn them as suggested, keep your water close to the heat elements, no need to do any more than place them under the element, maybe put a sponge in to help increase surface area. Stop turning them at 25 days and watch for hatching at 28 days. You can candle them at 10 days to see if you have live eggs. I use a 1600 lumen led torch I got off ebay, works great.
Get some 28-30% feed (game bird, turkey starter, you need the high protein to keep them alive) if you have live eggs about the time you stop turning so your not rushing around at the last minute for food.
Your chicken eggs will hatch at 21 days, so if you set the chicken eggs 7 days after the turkey eggs, they all should be stopped turning at the same time and will hatch at about the same time as well.
I find turkeys fun to have around, such a funny bird.
