I have 2 turkeys and my male turkey likes to go to my back porch window and stare at himself. I have to shoooo him off at dusk so he will go and roost. I know he is looking at himself and thinking "that is themost handsome guy I have every seen" because he will stare at himself for hours!

Why would he do this?

I am going to have to cover up the bottom portion of the window with paper of some sort because he also poops all over the back porch in front of the window.....phew whee....it stinks!

Hmmm, you've given me an idea. I should hang a mirror in their run. Maybe my patio would be less turkey-poopy.

My turkeys are partially there because grandma throws them bread.

Poor Grandma, one day, she propped open the door and went out, thinking the turkeys were put up. Here came the turkeys - running and flapping as fast as they could. Cane and all, she tried to race them for the door to keep them out of the kitchen... She managed to beat them back from the door with her cane, but the door was still propped open. She tried to close the door, and the turkeys grabbed her fingers and they got hold of her oxygen cord and shook it. After she finally got away and got the door closed, she realized her oxygen cord was caught on the step outside, but she didn't dare go out to get it loose so she had to wait there for DH to come save her.

Turkeys on the patio are a bad, bad idea.

Actually turkeys are very territorial and will attack any strange bird they see that is not a familiar part of the flock. When a turkey sees the reflection of itself in a glass window/door or a chrome vehicle bumper they will attack the image they see. They do not recognize it as themselves but a strange bird that has invaded the flock and must be dealt with.
