So I hatched 2 chicks & they’ve started crowing in the mornings, so I assume they’re both roosters. Am I able to keep them without getting them ladies to keep them happy? They squabble but are very close. My health has declined & im going to have to move to my mums as I cannot safely live alone. I would not have got the hatching eggs if I’d known this was going to happen, but I love my boys very much I don’t want to part with them if I don’t have to. Getting more chickens isn’t an option unfortunately as my mum has a much smaller property etc. one is a frizzle who is unbelievably sweet & gentle & the other is a silkie who acts like the boss finding food them etc. if I’m being cruel I will look in to rehoming them, but for selfish reasons I really don’t want to let them go. They live indoors through the night & have an aviary through the day. The frizzle prefers human company & the silkie likes being stroked but definitely prefers chicken company.

They should do just fine together, especially because they were raised together. If you got hens, they'd be more likely to fight because they'd be competing for the ladies. They will have a pecking order, so the occasional squabble is normal as long as it's not happening constantly and no one is getting hurt.

Great thanks so much for the advice. They do squabble but the frizzle is very submissive & then a few minutes later they’re snuggled up together!
