I now seem to have 2 of these sort-of-barred blue boys -- presuming boy due to the combs popping up conspicuously.

Here's Blue Band (who does seem to have a spot on his head but not so much barring on the wings):

Welp does not carry Sapphire Gems.

They do have a thing called a Blue Plymouth Tint -- which I actually tried to order but which I was told were not hatched on the same dates as the Blue Australorps. Of course they could have changed that due to demand.

Time will tell. :D

I see a definite head spot on the one blue chick. If they don't carry Gems, they are definite the "Blue Plymouth Tints". I can decide if they or both barred or the one is just showing the typical blue darker edges/areas.

The red chick is either a RIR or a Production Red.

I looked through all my older photos again. That head spot was not visible before -- which explains how he got into the all-pullet assortment. Strangely, he's the one with the less-clear barring. :D

So the red chick will lose the speckled pattern as she grows then?
