But would you mind telling me, kind sir, what is the other half of Jethro's chick Uno? Do you recall? I was thinking an Imp/EE cross, but I don't recall Jethro having an EE egg; only brahmas. That means that Uno would be another trahma, only the very rare kind without feathered feet.

On a bit more of a serious note.....who's responsible for upkeep on the fence....you guys or the guy renting your ground? We own one of our pastures, but we also rent one and we, not the landlord, are responsible for upkeep on the fence and making sure our cows stay in. They supply the materials, but we do the work.

Katy, our neighbor that owns the cows was up here tonight chasing an errant bull. He says he'll come by tomorrow and help me fix things up. The agreement for him to lease the land was a "handshake agreement" between DH's late father and the man; going back 20+ years or so.

He would of helped me tonight, but apparently there was a major fence breach between our land and the neighbors to the south. Red and black bulls running every dang where. Gonna be interesting around calving time.

Ours is a handshake agreement too. He needs to work on the fence to keep them contained....I know that once they find a hole it can be hard to keep them in, but it can be done.
