When my first girl laid her first egg, all the other pullets were rolling it around the run! I think they were trying to figure it out, funny things Congrats on the first eggs!

On a side note, that is a GORGEOUS pullet, but she's not a barred rock, perhaps a silver laced Wyandotte?

They are very nice looking birds! It is possible that she's an EE, they often have muffs, but not always. You are correct in that she is definitely not an Americauna!

I pulled my phone out to video them doing it, but of course they stopped. They are like kids, they know when the phone comes out then stop the action, that way there is no proof!

You know what, you’re so right! When my daughter pulled that first egg out of the nest box, i literally ran outside to see it. All the while, she was laughing at my excitement. I thought that my Rhode Island was going to be the first to start laying.... nope.
