My very first eggs!!!

I think you need to wait to at least day 7 or ideal is day 10 to candle. Just be patient.

when I was discouraged about incubating after a heat spike, my friend told me something very true : "It's okay! Even if you hatch ONE, it will still be worth while."

Actually, starting at day three you can see a network of veins beginning and everything progresses at an amazing speed from there. You shouldn't candle a lot.. I think it might delay hatch day ! I would candle day 3 just to see which ones to throw away.

Wow first egg scare number one!!! My power went out last night at 2:30 reported it they said it wouldnt turn back on until five!!!! UGH!!!! I stayed up with my eggs until the power came back on and waited a few minuets to make sure the temp did not spike it was steady at 100 so I went to bed, three hours later i get up and the Temp is 103! then spiked to 105 for like 1 minuet before I got it back down....ugh no break catching for me on this one considering the box was crushed during shipping :'(

Update - Only two started developing one of the two died half way through :'( however!!! Plently of movement and devolopment from my last little egg, day 12 go buddy go!!!!! And I now have a freshly laid ameraucana egg in the bator hoping its fertalized that would be awesome! Because she was caged with an ameraucan roo before I bought her, so there is a slim chance :)

First time hatching is so exciting and yet stressful at the same time!! Lol. My first time I tried to hatch shipped eggs none of them made it because I had a cheap, unsteady incubator and my eggs were already at a disadvantaged being shipped and all :( Once I upgraded to a really nice incubator and went with eggs from my local farm, things went a little smoother and I was able to hatch 3 out of 8 eggs (3 were infertile, one quit early, and one quit right before lockdown). We learn as we go and I'm sure the hatch rate will get better each time :) Good luck with the little one and keep us updated!!

I'm new to incubating eggs myself, I'm using a homemade incubator and paid a pretty price for some eggs anyways it's only been like day 4 and I'm nervous about the hatching rate of course these are shipped eggs I got from eBay, I just hope things go well.
