My very first home hatched chick!!!**Update* Pics

My broody, Priscilla (a bantam mix), reached the 20th day today. I checked on her this morning but she was grumpy as usual (fluffing up & growling) so I couldn't see much. Her special broody box sits on top of my two brooders so of course I could hear peeping but wasn't sure who it was coming from. Just went out just now and saw movement just outside of where she was setting and looked over and there was a baby chick!!!!

I am so excited!!! I wasn't even positively sure my eggs were fertile, but now I have a baby!

I will post pictures as soon as my husband gets home with my camera.

Here's my baby, he wiggled his way out from under Mama so I snapped a few pics before she got him back under again. He looks like he is one of the Australorp - Sex Link mixes. I think he is absolutely gorgeous!
(Sorry the pics are so fuzzy, had to use Extreme Zoom, cuz Mama was not happy about him being out)

Was up to 3 babies last night. Two Australorp X's and one white crested black polish. Yay, that is so awesome. Guess that tells me my eggs were fertile.
