Really having a rough go of it this week. Just hitting the bend on the weekend and it just keeps coming.
Crazy storms. One of the busiest weekends at work this year.
And one of the older chicks is dying right now. Started while I was at work when I got the text from the Misses. Last bit of life is leaving it now, I've been home for a few minutes and am just dumbfounded by this turn of events. We let the other two chicks back out in general population the other day and the buff seems to have recovered fully while the black one looking better briefly has slunked back into the same posture as before.they both wanted to integrate back into their miniature flock but the black one couldn't keep up. Not long after, maybe a day and a half or so ago was when I saw the second buff hanging with the black. I and should have known better. Now it's dying. And I still won't be able to do anything to treat the rest of what i can easily speculate the problem to be until tomorrow afternoon because I'm getting up in just a few short hours to serve one of our busiest brunches to date, 150 on the books for the morning. Nothing available for over a 3 hour period. I've done what I can do with the time I have available and will be making steps to help ensure this type of thing doesn't happen again.
I need to keep a level head and understand that in the scheme of time, something will always be bound to happen and as my numbers increase I need to expect some bumps and be ready to roll through them.
