Drained the duck pond when I went to work, and filling it now. Easy on the rest of the fuacets when we are asleep.
Was wondering where all their eggs where.

Had a feeling they were in the bottom of the brink. I certainly don't have time for it in the middle of the night. Gonna give e some fresh water and deal with the ridiculous amount of eggs in the morning, 30+ I think.
Pretty sure that's about it. I feel like there's more or there should be.

Holy.....Whatever!!!
You're just refilling...before cleaning muck and ALL those eggs!?
What do you do about ducks laying in the pond??...sheeeesh!
Such a shame, silly ducks.

OK ok. Here's some more of the incubator.

Here's my jumble of electrical, I wanted to piece it together before I mounted everything. The numbered cables correspond to the ports for easy rewiring after the install.

Mounting the ceramic outlets, I'll give these at least one more once over with the silicone.

Everything starting to line up.

Other news.
Got another box in the garden refinished and started filling it.
I have someone lined up for 2 dozen eggs every week. Confirmed. The hens are getting close to paying for their own feed with the randoms in-between.
Serving grilled duck breast this weekend at work, not sure about salad sauces or starches yet but it's downstairs so it's happening.
Got a buddy coming over in the next week or so who owns a tree service company to cut down a crazy slanted oak in the front yard.
I bought a bunch of heavy cream on sale
To make butter with, should go all right as long as I remember to plastic wrap the mixer when I start it up.
Also have some better tools for the mayo adventure. Squirt bottle that I'll mark of cup portions on and a good comfy wisk to give it another go.

time tables. And the the muck is doing what I intended it to do and settle to the lowest point. I believe my planned water element will add to this as well. A few days of Turning the valve for a min or so and topping it off should help. Those eggs will get flushed out with the rest of the waste. When I have more than one day off after several doubles I'll dedicate a little more time to it. I had this same problem last year with them laying on the pond edge and rolling in. Giving them 100% access to the pond, not sure what I can do to deter this. I did find a random spot they started laying in and now have a dozen wonderful eggs in the fridge.

That is to funny!

How are your little chicks doing? Do weeks to go for my broody. She's funny, when I go and check on her she's shifted each time but is statuesque when I open the lid. She's like a little egg timer just turning to countdown. Lol.

Turkeys should be in at the feed store by the end of the month. Gives some more time to finish putting things together around here for em.

Incubator ran fine through the night. Nothing caught on fire or blew up. Plenty to do before I move it inside to its final place.

Morning has been here for a minute.

Ohhhhh.......that will be interesting!
Can't wait to hear how that works...how big is your drain line?
just bigger than my Welsh eggs. Lol I have a nice long pole to jam up there in case anything gets clogged :) A running hose works well too. The clogging was only an issue one of the last times I drained it when it had literally all the leaves from the two trees above in it. This time around, the flow once the valve was turned stayed consistent.
