My War with cats.

LOL. I was thinking about the time we used fox urine to get rid of rabbits from our garden -- didn't do a thing for the rabbits, but it apparently worked on the new fox we then had to deal with.

I totaly agree with protecting your livestock, my nieghbors cat was in my yard every night fighting with other strays under my house and howling keeping me and kids up, I spoke with my neigboors about it they said they would keep him in at night! We purchased red golden pheasants, and I got 16 chicks ans saw the cat in my yard everynight again 2 weeks after speaking to them. I spoke with them again and they didn't seem to care about my animals! So a coyote or fox must have got him last night, wink, wink!!!!

The only problem with relocation of animals is that it is in some cases illegal, make sure to check your state and local F&G laws before relocating or even transporting an animal (transporting a wild animal without the required willdlife permit is also illegal in most states).

I believe completely relocation is the best choice, I relocated a cat that I had running wild in my yard!! It got relocated to kitty heaven!

I had the same problem with my neigbors cats bad thing they picked the wrong yard to come in since my dogs don't like any other animal except the ones in the house and its kill on sight (Six cats and 3 possums) My quails are fine thank god but I moved then to my back balcony which is shaded but it's very high up so no way a possum can climb up and the only cat that can get up there is my quails only little black kitty knight she loves sleeping on top their cage and laying next to them on the outside and she always kills birds what an irony! XD

I think they should be relocated but at the local animal shelter. There is a chance they will be microchipped and the cat could be reunited with the owner and usually with a hefty fine. This discourages the owner from allowing them to roam. If they are feral they will be destroyed and usually end up in a college or high school anatomy class and put to good use. Or they may be fixed and adopted ny responsible owners. Relocation means they end up out in the country somewhere to kill wild quail or worse become my problem because I live on one of those back roads and I have quail too. Please take care of your own problem without giving it to me or someone else like me. We have enough strays dumped on us as it is. We don't needed fellow poultry enthusiasts using our place as an easy out!

also there are some serious laws about dogs and cats and trapping. Its kin to kidnapping as explained to me by the local animal control officers and the town attorney.. if we get caught doing something like this its several felonies with mandatory incarceration. Even just trapping it, all a neighbor has to do is swear they witnesses their cat in your trap on your property and life will suck for a couple years here in VA. Dogs and cats have many of the same protections as us humans, actually legal status simmular to our underaged children, more than any other animal.

On the flip side, if their cat is tresspassing on your property, and you get the police there in time to see it, and the cats owner says they own it, then they get in trouble but the one little problem is that the town can't afford the cat shelter so the police are told to refuse any attempts to follow the law since that involves putting the cat in a shelter til the legalities are settled and with no shelter they can't execute the state code.

So, don't get caught (and some of you might want to edit the confessions LMAO)

I've spent quite a bit of time and money on this issue and the local authorities, at the danger of loosing the ability of having the town police and sheriffs office decommissioned by the state, the towns taxes have been raised to build a multimillion dollar cat shelter.... I'm not really liked anymore ha ha ha
