I went out of town last weekend and when I got back I noticed that our chickens weren't laying eggs. My kids hadn't noticed, but the next day one of the hens was dead. We figured out that the waterer had gotten clogged and I was sick thinking about their suffering. My question now is, will the rest of my hens ever be able to lay again? They have had plenty of water for days now, but still no eggs. We've had hens for about three years, and I haven't had this happen before.

They will lay eventually, but it may take a while. It is even possible that they may go into a molt because of the stress of water deprivation.
