Was with this group on Facebook before I deleted Facebook. Glad to be back.
We recently have been seeing mites in the coup and on the chickens. We think it is because of all the rain and no where to take a dirt bath.
We see that some use PSP to spray the coup and dip the birds into.
What is the mix ratio for the dip bath? What is the mixture you all use in and around the coup.

Thank you for any and all input,
Russell

Hello, Russell, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
The directions are on the bottle. I did not dip the birds. I just put the diluted solution in a spray bottle and sprayed under their vent in the fluff, under each wing, on the chest and the back under the hackles getting it down the skin.

I have used the PSP a couple times and it worked although it is labor intensive. I didn't dip but just sprayed the hens thoroughly when they went to roost. ( I'm sure they were annoyed.) Pay special attention to the vents.
Clean out all the hay or whatever you use for litter. Then spray the entire area. Pay special attention to any cracks and joints where the mites can hide. You may have to go back in a week or two when the eggs hatch.
There is another product I found at our feed store that worked well with one spraying. It was premixed in a spray bottle. I thought I had some but I'm out. I'll try to get by there tomorrow and see if I can find out the brand.
