My winter Muscovy ducklings are amazing me.

Pics! They are 4 weeks old today. Its now 30 degrees out so I guess 2 degrees made a difference. LOL

With mom, I can't believe how big they are getting.

They all look like they are going to be black barred. I hope they don't get as solid as their dad.

These are the 3 smallest with the least amount of feathering. If I have 3 girls and 10 boys, that will suit my purposes. :)
Adorable, isn't amazing how fast they grow and how much they change? thanks for giving those of us duckingless [is that a word] ones something to look at.

Awww

They're darling.

Handsome ducklings you got there!

My muscovy duck started to breed on Christmas and I am a little nervous because I'm afraid that the ducklings might not do well in the cold weather of middle European Winter.
But thanks to your thread I am more confident now.

Well, another of my hens laid an egg this morning. Maybe I'll have more winter babies.

I'm very surprised. Two of my hens haven't lain at all. I'm pretty sure that the one that laid the egg this morning, Pink, is the same one that started laying for about 1 week in Sept and then stopped. I caught her making a nest and promptly made a more appropriate covered one. I'm going to make the half of the coop where the geese were a brooding/hospital area and leave the part where the ducks have been as is, maybe add more roosts.

Good idea. Have you fed the ff to your ducklings yet? it took my ducks/geese awhile before they were sold on the ff but now they all like it.

Yes, I gave the ff to the babies. They are little pigs since I've had them on a feeding regimen. They ate it the first time I gave it. The younger chickens are the only ones that are taking some time to get used to it but they still eat it.
