My bird is panting and it's not that hot. The other birds aren't doing it. I had to put foot braces on her because she wouldn't walk. That fine now but now she's panting . I mean is this normal?

could be stress. are there any dogs in your neighborhood that could have chased her maybe?

She's in with a bunch of young chicks, but she's not that old herself. I've noticed that she's losing some feathers as well. Should I put her by her self?

Last two days. The other chicks seem to pick on her. Thank you for responding!

no problem. if its been happening for that long, yes, you should separate her. but keep her in a safe box neer the other chicks, so she can still hear them so she isnt lonely. try to get some fluids in her. its gonna sound weird, but try gatoraid until you can get some electrolites and minarals for her water from the feed store. is she pooping regularly? if not, gut some olive oil in her, it works well for constipation.

You can also try unflavored pedialyte to get electrolytes in her. I have used that sucessfully with dehydrated animals, and all that panting is probably causing some dehydration. Wish I could be more helpful. Good luck.

Thanks I'll will try all of that, and I'll keppyou posted. It will have to be later today. I will get everything from the store. Thanks again!

My little girl seems to be just fine today, I went to the store about 2:00am and got her the gatoraide and the pedalite (sorry not a strong speller) and she seems to be happy and healthy again. Thanks to all. Oh, this ia the same little girl that I had to make the little braces for her feet. Happy to say that she is up and walking all on her own now. Thanks to the great advice I got from you guys. I would be lost with out this site and all the wonderful people on it. thank you so much!!!!!

Yeah! So glad she came around. Maybe she was hot or stressed, and all the panting dehydrated her? The electrolytes work so fast it's great. I have used the pedialyte on tiny kittens before that lost their mom and had to be bottle fed. Always perked them up.
