my younger chicks keep eatin my hens layer food

I feed all my chickens Purina Flock Raiser and have free choice oyster shell. Everyone does well and the eggs are great!
Good hard shells. I find it amazing that the hens know when they need the oyster shell and the rooster never gives it a 2nd glance!

ok ill give that ago all my feeds are no medicated. Then ill go on layer when there all the correct age thanks for you help.

I also feed Purina Flock raiser to everyone when I have non-layers free ranging with the laying flock. The hens eat their oyster shell, and I'm getting an egg a day from all but one hen.
I suepect a problem with her laying system though, it's not the feed.

it not good for them. It has calcium in it with is good for the layers but will make the chicks grow to fast and give them growth problems. you should either raise the layer feed higher up so the chicks cant reach it or just take out the layer feed and feed all the hens chick feed because its fine for hens to eat. Also dont let the chicks near any oyster shells, to much calcium
