I Just got day old chicks from Bowmans (feed store) 3 days ago. I now have 6 chicks- and one of them, Mya, an Ameraucana, will chirp very loudly running around the brooder with her head held high like shes looking for something, when the chicks are trying to nap. I'll call her name (theres a bed 4 ft from the brooder, been sleeping and staying down there most of the day the past 3 days) and she'll jump out of the brooder and run over to me, shell then run around on my stomach and sleep in the crook of my arm or on my shoulder under my hair. I get afraid she'd get to cold so I would then put her back in the brooder after 5 minutes or so. Mya needs so encoragment to get off my hand and join the others. The rest of the chicks dont do this and don't like to be held at all- especially Silverwing the biggest and I think the hight ranking Chick. Has Mya imprinted or does she just like me alot? I was not the first person she saw.
