Mycoplasma... Gross!

I read that it can be carried by wild birds as well. I think that mine came from some adult birds that I bought not too long ago. I have a huge flock and was astounded by how many of my birds were sick. Yucky eyes, snotty noses... The worst of them were gasping for breath because they couldn't breath. So, I dosed everyone.

My friend that took care of my birds while I was gone had an outbreak of this at her house a few years ago. She wrestled with it for a while until her vet gave her a bottle of the Tylan. Finally, the birds started getting better. So, either it was just time for the birds to get better or the medication worked.

I'm just gonna keep disinfecting my coops and runs and keep everyone on the antibiotic for the recommended length of time.

**Does anyone out there vaccinate against this to prevent future outbreaks in new birds?
