Seems it's been a very stressful summer with my chickens here in Colorado. I had purchased some purebred roosters, as well as several pullets in hopes of breeding a few next year. I enjoy starting pullets for local friends and neighbors. The bad news is all my chickens (free ranging) were infected with MG, assumedly from a wild turkey hen that passed through during the summer. I've not culled all my hens and pullets; I'm accepting that their egg production will be reduced, will process any non-laying hens, and have closed my flock to outside sales. I am quarantining and vaccinating any new additions. What are the long term effects of MG on roosters? I know the disease passes vertically from the hens, but is the fertility of the rooster affected? I hope to use the roosters I purchased on newly raised and vaccinated pullets to raise a few chicks for myself. I also have a few very young rooster chicks that have been vaccinated as well. Anyone with experience? :) Thanks

Hard to know if MG will affect fertility of the roosters, but MG is also spread through dust, dander and equipment.
Do some research on how the vaccine works and what "protections" it may offer.
