Mycroplasma - what would you do?

I have some sick chickens on my hands and am looking for advice. I purchased 3 pullets from a local hatchery about a month and a half ago that I believe have been sick since I got them. I kept them separate from my existing flock, in a large brooder in my garage, due to their size difference from my flock and to monitor them. One died yesterday on the way to the vet for their second round of Tylan. The other two are definitely not feeling well but are still hanging on. I was told the hatchery I bought them from has had an issue with mycroplasma and after some research, I believe that’s probably the culprit. They aren’t eating, eyes closed, balance/ability to stand seems off, and yesterday I saw some foam/bubbles in one of their eyes.

I’m wondering if I should continue to try to get them well or “cut my losses” and euthanize/cull even though one of them seems to be coming around and eating. I really hate to do this but I can’t continue to spend money bringing them to the vet and based on what I’ve read, they will now always be carriers so I shouldn’t try to integrate them into my flock, even if they do get well.

Does anyone have experience with mycroplasma or any advice? Is my assumption that they should never be introduced to my current flock correct?

I’d really appreciate any advice.

I’m so sorry for your birds! If the chickens will be contagious regardless on their health status, you could cull them if you don’t want to make their own living quarters. But considering only one is recovering, I’d say cull them both. It’s up to you if you want to, and I don’t know any medication with mycoplasma. Hope the rest of the flock does just fine.

I am sorry someone sold you sick birds.
Where did you buy them/which hatchery?

When you say you were on your way to the vet for the second round of Tylan...how is the Tylan being administered?

Tylan needs to be given at least three times a day for consecutive days in order for it to work.

My vet has just been administering the Tylan once a day. Today would be the 3rd day. This is before I had heard about the hatchery’s bout of mycoplasma and we really weren’t sure what was wrong with them. When they were sick right after I got them, this approach got them over the hump so we figured we’d try the same thing this time around.

What hatchery did you buy them at?

Giving Tylan once a day is not good enough.

I'd cull them too. The last thing I'd want is to constantly be nursing sick birds for the rest of their lives.
