Mysterious tiny eggs...any ideas?

I have five chickens: a two year old Welsummer, a Barred Plymouth Rock, a Golden Laced Wayandotte, each about a year old, and two RIR pullets about 5 months old. The Welsummer lays dark chocolate brown speckled eggs, and the other two adult hens lay brown eggs with no speckles, and lighter than the Welsummer's dark brown eggs. During the heat wave we had last week they stopped laying for a few days, but are now getting back on schedule. But during that hot week I found two very dark brown eggs with darker speckles, very small in size, as small or smaller than bantam eggs, about an inch and a fraction long. They were not in the regular nest boxes, just out in the run. The first one I accidentally broke because the shell was not very thick, and that egg appeared to be lacking a yolk. I found the second egg a couple of days later and still have it. If I had any real computer skills I would take a picture and post it.

I think the RIRs are too young to lay ( I know they are brown egg layers, but I don't know about speckles), which has me wondering if the small eggs could have been some anomaly from the Welsummer when she was not laying her regular eggs during the heat wave. Any thoughts on the origin of my tiny mystery eggs?

A "fart egg"? I never heard of that. She has laid a couple of normal eggs in the past couple of days, but each of my layers is off a little in the heat. A "fart egg"...I can't wait to share that with my wife.

Some call it a fairy egg, some call it a fart egg. Yeah the heat really messes with chickens. Giving them frozen fruits/veggies can help cool them during a heat wave.

For some reason, I prefer "fart egg" to "fairy egg".:D It kind of goes along with something an elderly man told a friend of mine about the three things a man should remember if he wants to enjoy old age...one was never to pass up an opportunity to use the restroom, the second was never trust a fart. I can't print the third piece of advice on a family friendly forum like this.:old
