She is beautiful!! Australorps weren’t even a breed a had on my radar to get, but so far they are the friendliest little things! And I guess great egg producers as well. Does anybody know if tail feathers are an indication of sex? I have three with noticeable tails and one without.

Thanks, I adore my girl Tulip! And yeah she’s a good producer, I would say she lays 4-6 days out of the week right now (she’s 1 year old and in her prime).

Generally, in many breeds males are slower to feather in, especially in the tail feathers. But I’m not sure if Australorps follow that generality too.

Both sexes get good sized combs & wattles as well. They are gorgeous. Lately I've seen photos of blue Australorps - even gorgeous-er really I hear there are also Splash Australorps
