My order came with a free rare breed mystery chick. They wrote on the box it was a Buff Brahma, but every pic I have found of a Buff Brahma does not look anything like it. Any suggestions??

And that is it's back on top of the feeder.

Light Brahma for sure and I have one just like it in the brooder at home. She is super sweet and one of 2 out of 19 that loves to be petted. I don't think that the pictures that McMurray or any other site for that matter has very accurate representation of chicks. They look enough like the picture but they are always more yellow in the drawings, pictures than they appear in real life. My friend has a light and dark brahma pullets and they are WAY prettier in real life. Where did you get your chicks from? Just curious.

Looks more like a Partridge Brahma to me. Every white brahma I have hatched has been white with maybe some black not brown. On the web site feathersite under Brahmas there is a picture of a partidge hen with chicks that look just like yours.

Not a Partridge Brahma, as NO hatchery has those and there are only about 3 people in the US with them.

Not a Light Brahmas, as Light Brahmas should be a creamy white color as chicks, and in hatchery quality should be grey with a white face and underside.

Looks more to me like a partridge Cochin, probably their "giant" variety.

Does it have a single comb?
