Very curious what breed this is. Was sold as a black sex link. But it was a reddish brown baby chick. This is her at 4 weeks. Just to note, it did not have chipmunk markings as a chick. Which seems to rule out everything I’m finding that looks similar. Also, no fluffy cheeks to mark EE and it has a straight comb. 768B4932-2AF9-46AE-844C-E2BDA6E76448.jpeg B421FA9A-4018-4767-9C2A-0BD193FE798D.jpeg 7B65F736-CCAC-49EF-995D-C1B49E579F80.jpeg

Since black sex links are a hybrid rather than a true breed, different combinations are sometimes bred together to create them, resulting in diversity in appearance.

Regardless of her breed, she's a nice-looking chick!

Where did you get her?
Why do suspect it's not a BSL?
I suppose she could be a BSL. However, I’ve had a couple dozen of them over the years and while all ended up with red feathers mixed into the black they always started out as black chicks. This one was a reddish brown from the beginning and has not a trace of black on her. She came from my local TSC store.

Thanks!! All true, I just find it suspicious how she started out as a brown chick. Regardless of the large amount of red mixed in with their adult plumage my BSL chicks have always started out as black chicks. There isn’t one black feather on this bird. Either way she’s a good girl. Im just curious to see what she will grow up to be.😊
