Mystery chick

Welsummer, I think this may be it
Dark Cornish, not this, they have pea combs
Barnevelder, chicks look much darker than yours.....

th

Speckled Sussex, not this, they have white legs
EE, not this, no EE characteristics
Partridge Penedesenca, not this, wrong leg color

and Cream Legbar this is my second guess. Chick could fit, I just don't think it's feathering in the correct color. The juvenile plumage looks like a partridge-ish/wild type---whatever you call the Wellie ladies.

Keep us updated as she feathers out?
Good post. I'm leaning toward a Welsummer.

I agree with those assessments. I don't think it's an EE because it is clean faced, single comb, and bright orange legs. 3 strikes against EE.

I won't write off penedesca right away because of leg color because I've seen that change on chicks, but it is lower on the list of possibilities for me. I'm leaning most toward welsummer, which I'm really happy about. :)

I've got a mystery chick, too. I ordered 50 chicks of mixed breeds. However, I was counting them and what should have been a combination of 10 leghorns and austra-whites turned out to be only nine. I thought maybe I got stiffed a chick, but when I counted them all there were 50. However, one looks different than all of the rest because of the stripe down his head and back, Perhaps it's too early to tell and the red heat lamp doesn't help, but here's a picture.

Any ideas? I want to know what this one is that I got that is definitely not Leghorn or Austra-White.

I figured it out. It is one of the Easter Eggers I bought and didn't remember it. I was given an extra Rhode Island Red instead of the Leghorn or Austra-White, I just don't know which I got short changed on.
