Mystery chicken

Well, Tubby finally got her little quantined space outside instead of in my tub. She is a barred rock, and we have two other barred rocks the same size as her. I go outside last night, and one of the other barred rocks is with her. HOW DID SHE DO THAT????? At least that is what I thought - apparently some rogue barred rock chicken came a visiting and never left. Now I have 4 barred rocks.....

A volunteer - that's great! At least she put herself in quarantine for you. She probably knocked on the door down at the coop and they wouldn't let her in - told her to see if Tubby had room for her

I sure wouldn't mind a few of those EE's from down the showing up unannounced and making themselves right at home!

I've even heard rumor that they have a rather nice roo too. Sweet and gentle, well mannered. I wonder if they'd like to loan him to me next spring when Gimpy and FussButt go all broody again! I have nothing against mutt birds what so ever...just look at my flock and you can see that much!

So, any ideas where this mystery bird came from? Do any of your neighbors near by have birds? I wonder if anyone around you has noticed that they're missing a bird? It would be interesting to find out where she came from.

It's weird. There is no one around us that has chickens, and barred rocks don't just wander around town. Well, I have four now.
