Mystery chickens!

I'll post pics tomorrow. One of them is pure black feathers with a really pretty green sheen to them. They all look super healthy and after we pick them up they calm down pretty quick. It makes me think they were loved and whoever did this just couldn't afford them anymore.


Barely. I'm gonna hafta add onto the hen house to make them as comfortable as I'd like though.

So.....um.....my brother went into the chicken pen a few minutes ago and discovered we've apparently been visited by the chicken fairy because there are SIX new hens in our coop that weren't there this morning.

If there's anyone else who also lives in that household: ask them if they did it.

I can see a parent telling a friend/co-worker "of course we'll take your chickens. My children would love them!" (Doesn't have to be a parent, but parents do tend to assume they know what will work for their children, even after the "children" are grown up.)

Nope. My nieces are both too young to have done it and my daughter is 18 but doesn't have a car. We figure it was one of our neighbors.

Turns out you were right. My brother got the chickens for free and didn't want me to chastise him for getting more chickens. *facepalm* We still need to ID their breeds so I'll be posting pics later
