Mystery chicks! What might they be?

I was visited today by a neighbor who told me that these had been hatched by his daughter (who is a teacher) for their class room project. Trouble is, once they turned from eggs into chicks, she wasn't sure what to do with them...

I was only too happy to take them, I thought I'd done with my brooder light for this year, but I was happy to plug it back in.

Any ideas what they might be? They're yellow, but they have odd little dark spots here and there and one of them has one dark feather in a wing......

All feedback much appreciated! (And I hope the pictures work....)

I'd be happy if they were leghorns, as I'm a big fan of the heavy layers!! But I'd also be happy if they are California Whites as they sure are pretty. But I'd be happiest still if they don't all turn out to be roosters

Send me positive vibes for hens. My husband says I'm a chicken hoarder, but he gives out less crap when they lay eggs and prove themselves useful!!
