Mystery hen--any one have any ideas?

I finally got this pic of this little hen in my coop. She is not like the others. Can anyone give me an idea of what she might be? Thanks in advance! Terri O in WI

I hope someone has some ideas...those feathers on the backs of the hock joint really intrigue me. My husband calls the "angel feathers." I had her inside to clean up a toe that she lost...you can kind of see the bandaide. (my DH does not take ery good chicken pics!) Terri O

Actually, she seems like a possible Silkie cross to me. I had three of those, normal feathered, but that little poufy head always wins out. Whether Polish or Silkie, she is definitely an MBC (Mixed Breed Chicken)

Well, +1 on part Brahma - the neck feather pattern and feet. I'd say you ahve your self a All American Mutt.

LOL--I like the MBC or AAM label! I thought as much! It is funny though, I bought her in a flock where the woman did not raise any chicks; got the whole bunch from a hatchery. Do hatcheries sell MBCs as a rule? Maybe they throw an occasional one in? Been so long since I have ordered any chicks I have no idea! Terri O

I'm thinking something crested crossed with d'uccle maybe. Those look like the vulture hocks on d'uccles. How many toes does it have (had - since it lost one)?

Just the normal chicken foot...no extras. I am going to check out this d'uccle brand...I hate the name vulture hocks. How in the world did it become that? Terri O

Funny you should post this... I just got this girl & boy from a rescue:

I just noticed that they both have 5 toes on each foot. I was assuming they were polish x brahma, but the toes had me confused - I never even thought of a silkie! That's what mine have got to be. Mine also both have full leg/foot feathering - not as much as a silkie would have, but still very much there. If yours has 4 toes rather than 5, I might lean towards polish cross rather than silkie, just a guess though
