Mystery hen?

Does anyone have any idea what breed this is? She looks like a RIR sorta bit with a rose comb and almost purple in color??

It does look like a RIR and they can come with rose combs!

Wanted to ask where you got it from? They are pretty rare but not impossible to have!

My sons teacher got them from a friend so she could let the class hatched them. We took 2 but one died after a few weeks :-( this one though is amazing. She is so beautiful and HUGE she is a few weeks younger them my other hens and towers over them. When the light hits her just right she looks like a deep purple.

What breeds are crosse to get this type of RIR?

Shes a He.

That a young rooster and may be a Rhode Island Red Cross do to all the Black feathers.

definate rooster. may be a partridge wyandotte, but the colors not quite right, may be a mix.

looks like all your others are hens though
