Mystery missing chick egg

Ok not sure if im posting in right place our silkie snow is sat on eggs due to hatvh monday but today when we took her out of her box one of the eggs was half a shell no chick or no egg anyone any ideas on what has happened we.moved the egg asa we saw thanks

it may not have been developing right, or had a crack and the hen ate it. they get hungry not leaving the nest.

a while back one that was sad- Jessica Simpson was in her yard with her small dog, and a coyote ran up and grabbed the small dog in front of her. Even though she saw that, she put up lost dog posters.
