OK, guys, help me out here, please. I have 4, 5.5 month olds and one who's going on 9 years. When the young ones were about 9 weeks, they had what appeared to be cocci. Bad enough that they went puffy, but not bad enough that they were passing blood. The older girl appeared to have it to, which was odd, given she hadn't been exposed to anything new. Could have been a coincidence that she felt crappie at the same time and also got better when they did. Anyway, treated with corrid(2 rounds) and they mostly improved. One of them continued to have the squirts, but acted fine ate fine and nothing suspicious in her poo. Normal poo, but watery. Fast forward to a few weeks back. Older girl not feeling well again; not death's door unwell, but not her greatest. She's moulting too and having trouble regrowing feathers, I thought because of intestinal parasites. I've started her on a multivitimin. Saw one poo from her with intestinal lining. The girl with the squirts, now has some fully normal poo, also having some squirts with intestinal lining and occasionally a *little* blood. One of the others is having normal consistency poo, but with some intestinal lining. Gave them round worm treatment, 9 days ago, they get a follow up dose tomorrow. No change in poo. All the young ones seem to be feeling great. Had a fecal run a couple days ago and it came back clean. Had a gram stain, to check for fungal overgrowth, on the older girl because of her history, still waiting on that. I'm at a loss; something must be causing the intestinal lining to sloth off. Any thoughts? Could they still be damaged from already killed parasites, do you think? Not so worried about the young ones, as the older girl. Although, the young girls seem smaller than maybe they should be. The Black copper Marans and only 3.5 lbs, but her appearance is healthy. One of the EEs is not much bigger, which could be her normal size, but smallest EE I've ever had. That's the one with the squirts. They are almost 24 weeks.
Thanks for any input as I'm perplexed!

Did a gram stain on the older girl. Looks like she has too much gram - bacteria along with a little budding yeast. I'm guessing the younger ones may have the same bacterial imbalance?? They are getting all the right things to keep their guys healthy, but maybe the cocci opened them up for this? The older girl had yeast last summer, so I had them check for that. I wasn't expecting a bacterial imbalance.
