Mystery pullet

Thank you! My thought was along the lines of an americauna or ee. I'm glad I'm not the only one to think so. I miscounted - she should be around two months old. Good call on the age.

We had ordered six chickens of a couple different breeds and got mostly the wrong number of the wrong breeds. I'd identified the rest, mostly just being the wrong number, but we didn't order an EE or Americauna at all. We got an Auracauna though, she has the beard.

Thank you!!
Did you get it from a hatchery?Hatcheries don't sell araucanas, unless they were mislabeled as one.

Having a beard doesn't mean you got an Araucana. Easter Eggers and Ameraucanas have beards. I am a novice when it comes to chickens, but I did learn that much over the last few days! I thought I have had an Ameraucana for the past 13 weeks, but nope, Easter Egger, beard and all.

Araucana don't have beards they have ear tufts, and no tails (rumpless). They are very rare and not sold by hatcheries. More than likely yours is not an Araucanae but another EE.
