I had 10 chickens and did not need more. But the storekeeper was so excited about her new shipment. She was looking at a catalog trying to figure out what kind of rare breed chicks she had just received. They were hatched March 20th, the pictures were taken last week so at about 8 weeks.

These I think I know:

They look like Silver Duckwing Phoenix in the Cackle Hatchery catalog. (not the white one) Remarkably, this is the only rooster. These two looked exactly alike as chicks.

I have two of these. I think they are Silvered Spangled Hamburgs. They are so lovely.

I don't have a good picture of the white ones. You can see one here and one with the Phoenix hen above. They are so tiny and delicate. Could they be White Yokohamas?

I thought this black one was a rooster at first. I don't think so now. I can only guess Black Sumatra from the catalog.

I gather from the catalog this color is called splash. Maybe that's wrong. The only possibility in the catalog is Standard old English Game Fowl, but that is not in the rare breed section. Any ideas? I just have one of these.

the first pic on the left looks like an egyptian famious (i dont think i spelled it right) and you are right about the silver hamburgs and black sumatras.

He does look like that, but she doesn't. And they were EXACTLY the same as chicks, like little chipmunks. He is just 8 weeks old in that picture, maybe that is just the slim gawkiness of a teenager??

Thanks!! I didn't even consider the Blue Sumatra in the catalog. The photo doesn't really look like her, but the description says they can be splash as well.
