Mystery Rooster

I’m curious about the breed of the rooster, his legs are mostly feathered and his comb color is interesting, also he’s very small and I have no idea how old he is but I’m told he’s “probably less than a year old”

He looks like a buff silkie cockerel. But silkies have a walnut comb and this guy has a single comb. How many toes does he have? I think he’s a silkie mix possibly.

He looks like a silkie to me although he appears to have a single comb and not a walnut, so maybe a silkie cross.

Silkies normally have black skin, so their comb will appear dark red/mulberry coloured.

Looks like a hatchery quality silkie--the ones we got from TSC (which got theirs from Ideal) all had the single comb and about that quality of feathering.

Silkie cross or a pet quality silkie. I had one in my silkie order from a hatchery.

I got him free on Craigslist along with the white rooster, both listed as “silkie roosters”
If I could catch him I could count those toes but from what I can see on him he has 5+

What breed is the big white rooster in your pic? He's a handsome fellow.

Looks like a hatchery quality silkie--the ones we got from TSC (which got theirs from Ideal) all had the single comb and about that quality of feathering.

That’s where I got mine. But only one had a single comb.

Then the buff is a silkie. Very cute chickens. Enjoy them. The white one is a mix. I don’t know if he had silkie in him though.
