My first batch of 6 chicks I got from tractor supply. These were tetra tints and black australorps. I got them because they are supposed to be good egg layers. After I researched some more, I wanted to get some easter eggers and some silkies, you know, fun chicks. I searched and I ended back up at TSC. I talked to the woman there and she said they get silkies mixed in with thier bantams every Friday but some lady usually comes in the afternoon and buys every silkie they get. So, that Friday I got to TSC 5 minutes after they opened. Me being the novice that I am, I asked her if they had silkies in their new batch (their tubs of chicks are blocked off by steel gates so people can't get very close at all). She looked for chicks with feathers on their feet and said she had 4 silkies. I said I'd take them and she put them in a box, but because of the law, I had to get a total of 6 chicks. Then, I realized they just got in Ameraucanas, so I told her to throw in 4 of those as well. That made my total 8 chicks! Now I can buy them. However, after I get home, I researched silkies to try to identify what colors mine would be. That's when I realized two of my "silkies" don't have blue feet or beaks. Can they still be silkies? If not, what are they? Here is a picture of all four of my "silkie" chicks. Please comment if you have an idea of what color they will be and/or what breed they are! I’m pretty sure my two actual silkie chicks will be white, but can you tell if they’re bearded? What does that mean anyways?
