So I've had the same chickens for a while now (few years) 33 total at the moment. Mostly bantams, some big girls. 3 are roosters 30 hens. Most breeds were chosen simply for friendliness. Some mixes are in there now too. Now all of a sudden I'm getting these beautiful spotted dark eggs. Sometimes they are very pigmented. But all my new layers are pure breeds. So I have no idea who's these could be. The picture doesn't do them justice. They look like freckled maran eggs to me? I'm curious to just hatch some. I hate eating them they are too pretty.
