MysteryChicken's, Flock.

I found the "restricted" list here:
https://www.animallaw.info/administ...hapter-7-regulations-wildlife-captivity#s7.18

"2. Category 1 Restricted Species: The following species are listed as Category 1 Restricted species, unless they are identified in another category in this Chapter or are on the Unrestricted List:"

Subsection E for "Aves" (birds) includes
(15)Family PhasianidaeAll Species in Family Phasianidae (Pheasants, Grouse, and Allies)"

But the unrestricted list included "All Species in Subfamily Phasianinae (Pheasants, Peafowl)"

So I think that means you need a permit for everything in family Phasianidae EXCEPT the ones on the unrestricted list (subfamily phasianinae).

That would mean no permit needed for ring neck pheasants or peafowl or chickens, but yes a permit for the various ones that are not in that subfamily.

Obviously you should check that with whoever issues permits, or with a lawyer, or with someone else who is actually qualified to interpret it properly. I'm not any of those.
I know chickens don't require a permit.

I think I'll make a thread tomorrow, & see if anyone will be able to decipher this better, so it less confusing.

Where's the unrestricted list?

The unrestricted list is available from that page^
Find where it mentions "Unrestricted," then click the link to the .pdf
The list is 18 pages long, and I found the pheasants on page 11 of it.
I didn't see it in that page when I looked through it.

I found it.

We started getting the coops built today. But can only get two of them built currently as ply wood has gotten expensive. But hopefully shouldn't be too long, & we should be able to get materials for a 3rd coop.

Who knew that a 4x8 sheet of plywood would one day be a luxury item??

The goat guy wants eggs as payment for the goats, so looks like I maybe getting a couple does next year. But I need help with some math.

How many dozen eggs would make 250?
