Sunlight glinted off Sun-star's wings, as he swooped in to land on the cave's ledge. He settled his wings and rumbled out a greeting to SnowWhite. "Do we have eggs yet, dear?" he called out, his tone thick with hope.

SnowWhite smiled. "Why else would I be laying here?" She chuckled.

Sunlight glinted off Sun-star's wings, as he swooped in to land on the cave's ledge. He settled his wings and rumbled out a greeting to SnowWhite. "Do we have eggs yet, dear?" he called out, his tone thick with hope.

SnowWhite smiled. "Why else would I be laying here?" She chuckled.

"So, do we? How many?" Sun-star's eyes brightened as he entered the cave. He shook his head, tossing a half-eaten bone at the wall. "I'll save that for later."

"Four," she smiled.

Baelfire sat on a boulder, his claws digging into the stone like a hot knife through butter. His vibrant yellow eyes scanned the area for signs of danger.

Saphira crashed into the ground. One of her tail wings had been torn, and she couldn't fly properly.

Draco watched the ground from above, his colorful wings spread.

Sun-star lowered his head to the creamy-white eggs and touched his cheek to one. Lifting his head, he gazed at his mate. "Lovely." He licked her cheek. "I can incubate for a while, so you can take a break. Stretch your wings and eat."

Sun-star stepped gingerly around the eggs, settling onto them. He wasn't some mate-with-her-and-leave creature. He was a dragon, and sharing child-rearing duties were commonsense to him.
